There were a lot of complaints about Crimson Desert's opening hours. The controls were complete jank; there was no key-binding on PC; and the story was, frankly, utter nonsense. This led to an early "Mixed" review rating on Steam, though it has since jumped to mostly positive.
Naturally, as players have progressed, many of their early issues have been ironed out, but it seems like one major late-game gripe has come to the forefront— mounts can't be tamed— and it's causing a lot of frustration for players.
During a preview of Crimson Desert, I was shocked that the game had as many as 29 different mounts. We'd seen the horse, the dragon, and weirdly, the mech, but I wondered what else I'd be able to capture and ride once the full game came out. Naturally, it turns out there was a lot, including bears, wolves, raptors, and Chocobo-like birds.
The problem is, these mounts can't be permanently tamed, and after a while, they aggro, and you lose them. This has been a major cause of friction for players, with multiple Reddit threads on the topic cropping up over the weekend.
