A Marvel Rivals player with the user name "Tgirl_Luna" says they were mass-reported by transphobes, resulting in them getting banned. After submitting ban appeals, they're back in the game, but the devs are refusing to restore their original name, claiming that it's "offensive".

As a result, the user has been left with the seemingly randomised username of "R4rt8TA" and will need to buy a name change if they want to create a new one. The devs and customer support are being criticised for their handling of the case, with many highlighting that racist and slur-filled usernames can be found in many matches, only for a trans-positive username to get targeted.

The user breaks down the situation in different Marvel Rivals subreddits. Basically, they had the username "Tgirl_Luna" (trans girl Luna) for a while (at least, judging from their level), only to then get hit with a ban. On appeal, they claim that it was because their username was deemed "inappropriate". They asked for specifics on why the username was inappropriate, but none of the support workers would say.
