The Pokemon Company has announced the Pokemon Champions release date, and it's coming to both of the Switch family consoles pretty soon, although mobile players are going to have to wait a little longer.

As revealed in a news post on the official Pokemon website, Pokemon Champions will be arriving on April 8th for both Switch 2 and Switch. As a reminder, it'll be a "free-to-start" game, which means you'll be able to get into it without paying, but some features are going to cost you.

Alongside the game, a Starter Pack is also launching, and it includes goodies like an additional piece of battle music, extra Pokemon storage, and more. If you're playing on Switch 2, you'll also be able to download a day one update to improve Pokemon Champions' visuals.

In Pokemon Champions, you'll be able to battle either with Pokemon included as part of the game or with your own team carried across from Pokemon Home. Naturally, not every Pokemon is in Champions, so only the ones that appear can be carried over.

Pokemon Champions' roster includes iconic critters like Dragonite, Scizor, and Altaria, and you can also battle with the Mega Evolved versions...
