Fortnite fans have proven that they have good taste, as the awful AI brainrot skin Ballerina Cappucina has become the worst-rated skin of all time on a tracking site.
As all of the backlash surrounding the Cybertruck proved a few years ago and the Harry Potter skins cemented more recently, Fortnite isn't immune to getting a ton of backlash for some of its more controversial collaborations. Those two caused enough of a stir, but I've never seen anything quite like the reaction to the AI brainrot skins that were recently announced.
Generative AI is a massive issue in the gaming industry right now, so it's a massive shame to see Epic embrace one of the most depressingly popular AI series out there. It's gotten so bad that players have begged for a way to turn the skins off, but even if that doesn't end up happening, everyone seems to have settled on tanking their scores on a tracking site.
