Resident Evil is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, and PlayStation just dropped a new way to honor the occasion. Better yet, you won't need PS Plus or any other subscription to take advantage of the free offerings, which is more than can be said for a lot of promotions.
PlayStation is currently offering Resident Evil 30th anniversary avatars for free, as reported by Push Square. Sign-ups are available on PlayStation's "Introduction to Resident Evil" page, but there's a chance you might need to do more to access the avatars. While the page doesn't contain any additional instructions, Push Square suggests that players will first have to wishlist or buy Resident Evil Requiem, then download the Sony Pictures Core app on PS4 or PS5.
Even if you go through those additional steps for safety, you may not get access to the avatars right away. PlayStation notes that the voucher code will be delivered "by late June 2026," well after the offer ends on April 30. It also suggests that the codes could be delayed, which starts to raise the question of why a basic digital download should be this complicated to begin with.
