Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Translator Apparently Fired as Dev Pivots to AI | TechRaptor

Generative AI strikes again, it seems, and this time, it's Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 developer Warhorse Studios that's drinking this particular Kool-Aid, at least if the account of a supposed former translator is to be believed.

The translator, who calls themselves Max H, posted about their experiences on Reddit over the weekend, alleging that they were told their job would become "obsolete" starting from next month. Max H claims that they received this blow "with no forewarning" and that it came "as a huge shock".

Moderator Tabnam vouches for Max H's authenticity after asking for proof of their identity, so either Max H is a very convincing fraudster or this is a genuine account of a translator losing their job so that Warhorse can use generative AI to translate its games in future.

Max H says that although discussions about AI translation had "frequently come up in the past", the translator was "strongly and vocally against" the implementation of such tech, and they say they never expected AI to cost them their job.
