The Super Mario Galaxy Movie makes it very clear that Fox McCloud doesn't have amputated legs since he says himself that he has "cool space boots" in his introduction.
If you're a Star Fox fan, then there's a non-zero chance that you've heard the old fan theory that Fox McCloud and the rest of the crew all have amputated legs. This surprisingly dark idea comes from artwork of the original game that showed Fox and the others with incredibly metallic-looking boots, leading many to think that team Star Fox had metal legs to combat the G-force of space.
Of course, the reality behind it is that it's just a piece of artwork that's trying to show off how cool Star Fox looks, but it didn't stop the theory from becoming very popular. A former Nintendo developer recently revealed that Miyamoto has heard this theory and found it ridiculous, and now even the Mario Galaxy Movie seems quick to debunk it.
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie released in theatres a few days ago, and while it's not exactly living up to a lot of Mario fans' expectations, it is a big treat for anyone starving for Star Fox....
