Beating Dark Souls or other FromSoftware games in creative manners isn't really something new. People have attempted to do it without getting hit, without leveling up, using a dance mat, with musical instruments, and even with only the power of their mind. But they all had something in common. They could all use the most powerful move in the game: the roll.
Rolling around a boss or enemy is key to any Soul game. You need to dodge their elaborate attacks and find an opening. However, one player decided to beat the game without using this essential move. Sure, it's not as fancy as beating Promised Consort Radahn with a tuba, but doing it without rolling is way more impressive.
Apart from not rolling, YouTuber Zeldasouls also added other modifiers to their run, like no getting hit, no leveling up, no ranged items or weapons, no magic, de-aggroing enemies, and, of course, no deaths (thanks PC Gamer). The roughly three and a half hour stream sees them beat Dark Souls with all these modifiers in naught but their underwear.
