Poor Omochao. The guy just wanted to teach us how to play Sonic Heroes, and we hated him for it. For years, he's been the butt of jokes, even after he became less prominent in the games, and mostly just pops in for the big mash-ups like Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds.
He's been voiced by a bunch of different actors over the years, and is currently played by Erica Lindbeck. Funnily enough, Lindbeck has also been the voice of Blaze the Cat since Team Sonic Racing in 2019, taking over from Laura Bailey. As I am sure you can imagine, one is a lot more popular than the other - and she's well aware of Omochao's reputation.
Speaking with me about the many, many roles she's taken over the years, Lindbeck touched on her time in the Sonic series, and how she will always be an Omochao defender. "I love Omochao. I feel like the fandom is really hard on Omochao," she tells me.
