Wanderstop Devs Announce Studio Closure After Failing To Secure Publishing Partner

Ivy Road sported a dream team of independent games developers. Davy Wreden had created The Stanley Parable. Karla Zimonja was behind Gone Home. Daniel 'C418' Rosenfeld composed iconic tunes for Minecraft. When these famous names and myriad others came together, Wanderstop was born. TheGamer's Tessa Kaur was hardly alone in proclaiming their love for the emotionally-charged "cozy" title.

But navigating this industry is a bit like walking over hot coals. The fire has claimed another, as Ivy Road will shut its doors just three days from the time of this writing, on March 31, 2026.

While my heart goes out to the team at Ivy Road, and I hope they all find positions ASAP in this terrifyingly brutal industry, there's one bit of nice news in all this: a promise that Wanderstop's still got "one last surprise" in store. Per the company's blog post:

"There's still one last surprise brewing, one we've been working on for the last year to help find a way for Wanderstop to reach new players. The great folks at Annapurna Interactive will be sharing more news about this in the future, and we’re looking forward to you all seeing what it is! "
