Any retelling of the life and times of Jesus Christ is ripe for controversy as, no matter how you depict it, there will almost certainly be people who aren't fans of how it's framed. That's why I expected I Am Jesus Christ to be bombarded with negative reviews when it launched just in time for Easter weekend, but it seems Space Boat Studios has nailed the assignment.
I Am Jesus Christ hasn't had the highest player count during its launch weekend. It peaked at 472 players on Good Friday, which is rather fitting. However, most of those who have put themselves in the virtual sandals of our Lord and savior have really enjoyed the video game version of Jesus's life.
The game currently has a rating of Very Positive on Steam, with 86 percent of the 533 players who have left a review having glowing things to say about it. While some of the reviews are seemingly poking fun at the game and its concept, most appear sincere, with more people than you might suspect having wanted an RPG where you can play through the life of Jesus.
