Overwatch's recent rebranding has turned the tables, making it the hero-shooter of choice. While Marvel Rivals has been going through a rough patch, Blizzard's game has seized the opportunity to add five new characters and a bunch of changes to bring the game back in favor. However, fans had an issue with the design of Anran's face.
Simply put, her face didn't look like how she was portrayed in the promotional material, with the in-game version looking "Disney-fied". Blizzard announced that the devs would redesign the character's face after the backlash, and has now released a video featuring game director Aaron Keller walking us through all the changes.
"We want our heroes to feel unique, but also want their visuals to match their personality, and we feel like we didn't quite land that when Anran first released," said Keller. "We think she can come across older and that her original version was too innocent and playful. Anran is confident, determined, fierce, and a natural born leader. We want her visuals in-game to convey that personality. So, we made some adjustments to her face."
