PlayStation Playerbase Wants to Scan You Into PlayStation Games | TechRaptor

Sony has announced a new PlayStation initiative it's calling Playerbase, and it's asking players to let the company scan them into games as in-game characters and more.

Playerbase was announced in a PlayStation Blog post earlier today. Sony describes it as a unique opportunity to immortalize yourself in some of PlayStation's games by "having [your] likeness scanned and appear[ing] within a PlayStation game".

Initially, Playerbase will introduce a lucky PlayStation fan to the world of racing sim Gran Turismo 7, but Sony says it's hoping to expand the initiative out so that it encapsulates other first-party PlayStation Studios games and worlds as well. I suppose whether that happens will depend on the success of this first outing.

If you apply to sign up with Playerbase, you'll be asked "a few questions about your experiences on PlayStation". Of course, you'll need a PlayStation account if you want to participate.

Once all of the applications are in, Sony says it'll go through them and invite those who have been selected to video interviews where they'll need to talk about "their connection to PlayStation". Only one person will be selected in the end, so you'd better make sure your application is...
