Sonic 3 Boosted The Streams Of All Shadow-Related Music

Say what you want about the Sonic series, but the soundtrack always delivers. Mostly always delivers, anyway, if we ignore Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood, but that's it. Every other game is full of bangers, and many of the biggest hits revolve around the fan favourite character, Shadow.

So, it is no surprise to her that the Year of Shadow, back in 2024, gave Sonic music a huge streaming boost. That is according to the Sega Sound Team, who say that Sonic music is having something of a revival with all of the attention the games and movies are getting.

As reported by My Nintendo News, the Sega Sound Team revealed this in an interview with Billboard Japan. Here, composer Tomoya Ohtani - who has worked on everything from Sonic Adventure 2 to Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds - says that the most recent film, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, "definitely had a significant impact on the streaming numbers."
