Starfield's Huge Update And PS5 Port Is Out Now

It's official: Starfield is out now on PlayStation 5. This comes after almost three years of Xbox Series X/S and PC exclusivity, as Xbox phases out console exclusives.

At the same time, a new update has gone live across all platforms. Version 1.16.236, or the Free Lanes update, alongside a new story DLC. The Free Lances update won't cost a thing, but Terran Armada will set you back $9.99. Thankfully, the free update adds plenty to get stuck into anyway, including proper space travel and New Game Plus.

All of the new features that come with the port, DLC, and free update can be read in a blog post, but we'll give you the highlights.

The big pull here is the titular Free Lanes feature, which lets players actually fly around space and cruise to their destination, rather than just go through a series of loading screens to fast travel there. To accommodate this, more content has been added to the game, so you will run into things to do while you go from planet to planet.
