Developer and publisher IO Interactive has announced that it's delaying the Switch 2 version of 007 First Light to an unspecified date in summer, although the game is still set for its original release date on other platforms.
Speaking on X, IO Interactive said earlier today that 007 First Light will still be arriving on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S on May 27th, but that it'll now be launching on Switch 2 "later this summer".
IO Interactive didn't specify a reason for the game's delay, but given that it's just affecting the Switch 2 version, it's possible that the studio has run into technical difficulties with porting 007 First Light to a less powerful system in a similar way to the problem the Borderlands 4 team presumably encountered.
Sadly, IO Interactive also doesn't give a new release date for 007 First Light on Switch 2, so if you want to play the game as soon as possible, you'll be better off picking it up on PC or one of the other two consoles it's hitting in May.
If you're not familiar with 007 First Light, it's the next game from Hitman developer IO Interactive, and it's...
