There's a scene in Resident Evil Requiem where Leon is being stalked by a giant spider. If that scene made you think of The Lord of the Rings while you were playing through the latest Resident Evil game, there's seemingly more to it than the new game and the old movie sharing a similar enemy type.

Twitter account SceneinCinema noted that Leon's spider scene in Requiem felt familiar, likely chalking it up to it being shot similarly to the scene that precedes Frodo being webbed up by a big old spider in Return of the King. Turns out it's a lot more than just coincidentally similar. It appears to be a shot-for-shot homage that's so close to the scene from LOTR that it's almost definitely intentional.
