Gunzilla Games, the studio responsible for the NFT-driven battle royale game Off the Grid, has recently been embroiled in controversy regarding unpaid employee salaries.
Several former Gunzilla employees shared their stories on LinkedIn, accusing the studio of failing to pay them for several months: "Gunzilla Games has not paid its employees for many months but still expects them to work," wrote former Gunzilla animator Paul Creamer. "I have personally not been paid since October 2025. Some have had their pay delayed even longer. I foolishly worked for 3 extra months (October, November and December) with assurances that delays in payment would be resolved."
Gunzilla's chief executive officer, Vlad Korolev, released a lengthy response on Twitter that primarily boasted about the success of Off The Grid and his company's triumph over the so-called "haters."
"The same haters who posted thousands of times that we would never appear on Xbox, PlayStation or Steam — were wrong. It happened.
