There were high hopes for Starfield on PS5 following how well other Xbox exclusives have been received when making the jump to PlayStation. Bethesda's space epic appears to be plagued by issues in its new home, as Starfield has become the latest PS5 game to prompt players to request refunds.
A thread on the Starfield subreddit, spotted by Eurogamer, started with a player calling for widespread refunds after claiming to have suffered crashes every two minutes, with every way they have tried to fix it falling flat. Those failed fixes include deleting their saves, switching in and out of performance mode, and even deleting the game entirely and then reinstalling it.
The combination of its Free Lanes and Terran Armada update has brought people flooding back to Starfield.
The replies to that original post are worrying not only because their situation isn't an isolated one, but because they demonstrate that the issues aren't restricted to base PS5 consoles. Those playing Starfield on the more powerful PS5 Pro are running into the same problems, hence the influx of players going to PlayStation to ask for their money back.
The top reply to that post is a PS5...
