Giving your game away for free if there's a sequel on the way is clearly the way to go if you have the means to make that happen. It's working wonders for Graveyard Keeper as the game is currently free to claim and keep until later today, and giving it away has resulted in an unprecedented player count spike for the indie title.

Its sequel, Graveyard Keeper 2, was revealed during last week's iii initiative, a showcase that celebrates newly released and upcoming indie games. The only downside is that you can only wishlist the follow-up for now, as it doesn't currently have a release date. Graveyard Keeper studio Lazy Bear Games made up for that and made sure anyone who wants to try the series can do so right now by giving the first game away for free.
