Combat encounters in Baldur's Gate 3 don't always go your way. The encounters against Raphael, Loroakan, and the Netherbrain, for instance, are tough, but can be overcome with strategy and knowledge of the game's mechanics. Then there's the fight to defend Isobel at The Last Light Inn, where everything works against you, including Isobel herself.
The problem with this fight is that it's an ambush in a place you thought was safe, and you're probably down a few spell slots and HP after trudging through the Shadow-Cursed Lands. If that's not bad enough, Isobel's AI has no survival instinct, and walks right into danger. While this has been a frustration for every new player since the game launched, what's even more annoying is that she actually has the perfect tool to deal with the situation, but just doesn't use it.
Not only does Marcus appear out of nowhere and chase Isobel like some sort of fantasy Terminator, but he's accompanied by Winged Horrors that can cause paralysis and stop her from getting away. On top of everything, her AI keeps running her right into danger, so there are a few things you need to juggle to keep her safe....
