Meta will be raising the price of its Quest 3 and 3S VR headsets later this week, it's been revealed, in a move that puts the tech giant in line with a number of other industry bodies.
As spotted by UploadVR, the price hikes will be coming into effect on Sunday (April 19th), with Meta blaming rising costs for "high-performance VR hardware". The company goes on to say that a surge in the price for critical components is hitting every sector of the industry, not just VR.
It's hard to disagree with that; last month, Sony hiked the PS5's prices due to "pressures" in the economy, and while the Japanese gaming giant didn't explicitly point to the cost of memory and other components, that's almost certainly the culprit.

As UploadVR notes, the Quest 3 will still technically be cheaper than it was at launch, since the headset would have set you back $650 in 2023.
