If you thought hunting ghosts in Phasmophobia was already stressful, Kinetic Games and Remedy Entertainment are about to make it worse. A limited-time crossover event, Phasmophobia by Alan Wake 2, is set to launch on May 12 across all platforms.
Revealed during the Galaxies Showcase, the event teases a “new presence” that bleeds into familiar locations and alters investigations, adding the narrative-driven dread of Alan Wake's Dark Place over Phasmophobia's already volatile hauntings. The result, according to the announcement, is a shift in shadows and behavior that players won't have seen before.
It marks a milestone moment for Phasmophobia, which has now surpassed 5 million console sales and 28 million copies sold overall. It's also their first in-game collaboration ever.
Remedy Creative Director Sam Lake called it a “dream - or rather, nightmare - collaboration,” saying it was a joy to write and that the two worlds “amplify each other perfectly.”
Kinetic Games CEO Daniel Knight echoed that sentiment. He notes the studio has been hard at work to bring the atmosphere and iconic locations of Alan Wake 2 into Phasmophobia's maps:
Working with Remedy has been an incredible experience, and the way these two worlds overlap...
