"The Continent Is Already Missing You": CDPR Posts Tribute To The Witcher Zoltan Chivay Actor, Dead At 81

Glasgow-born actor Alexander Morton, who played Zoltan Chivay in The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, passed away at age 81 earlier this week. The cause of death has not been revealed.

Tributes have been pouring in over the last few days celebrating his storied career across film, television, theater, and gaming, most notably for his roles in Monarch of the Glen, Casualty, Luther, Take the High Road, and, of course, The Witcher.

"We're deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Alexander Morton," CDPR wrote. "Our thoughts are with his family and friends. Thank you for bringing Zoltan to life. The Continent is already missing you."

Morton took over the role of Zoltan from Peter Marinker in 2011, but it wasn't his first video game credit. In 2007, he worked on the star-studded Heavenly Sword, followed by Viking: Battle for Asgard, Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures, Fable 2, Killzone 2, Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch, and LittleBigPlanet PS Vita.The actor was married three times, had two children, and was stepfather to White Lotus actor Leo Woodall; he leaves behind a storied 55-year career and an impressive portfolio, with numerous iconic...
