Windrose launched in early access last week and seemingly sailed directly into a lot of your hearts based on how many of you were playing it during its launch weekend. More than 200,000 people were playing the hit new pirate game at one point on Sunday, a higher peak than Crimson Desert achieved all weekend.
Thousands of people checked out the Windrose demo earlier this year, and then more than 20,000 concurrent players boarded their ships within a couple of hours of its early access launch last week. All signs pointed to Kraken Express's new game being a roaring success, but I can't imagine anyone, even the devs themselves, envisioned Windrose doing quite this well right away.
After releasing on Tuesday, Windrose's concurrent player peak on Steam got higher with each passing day. Right up until Sunday, when, according to SteamDB, there were a whopping 222,000 of you sailing its seven seas at around 2 pm EST. Games, particularly new releases, tend to perform best at the weekend, especially at launch, so it's unlikely Windrose will better that number later today, although you never know.
