It's happening: Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag is getting a remake.
Ubisoft has just scheduled the full unveiling of Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced for April 23, this Thursday. This is enough to confirm that the rumours were true, and the fan-favourite entry really is getting a remake.
In an announcement teaser, Ubisoft called Black Flag Resynced "gaming's worst-kept secret". True enough, multiple leakers had been giving us details on the game for a while now, so it was pretty much accepted that the game exists and would be announced soon.
However, given how long the Oblivion Remastered rumours went on for, I would argue that Resynced isn't even the worst-kept secret in gaming remakes, let alone the whole industry. Try again when fans are digging around website backends for game screenshots...
If all of the rumours are to be believed, then we could be playing the game very soon. It was previously claimed that Black Flag Resynced would launch on July 9, 2026. Considering the reports about its existence have proven accurate, there's good reason to believe this release date is bang on the money, too.
The original Black Flag launched in 2013 - so, almost...
