Starfield Tops The Sales Charts For The First Time Since 2023

It seems a lot of you were waiting for Starfield to finally release on PS5. The Xbox port was the best-selling game in the US during its PS5 launch week. It's the first time Starfield has been the top-selling game in the US since the week before it released on Xbox and PC.

Circana's Mat Piscatella shared the good news about Starfield, highlighting that the last, and only, time until now that Bethesda's latest title topped the chart was during the week ending September 2, 2023. Unsurprising that Starfield had a lot of pull then, as Xbox and PC owners would have been placing pre-orders in preparation for its imminent arrival.

There was also a five-day early access period for those who bought the more expensive editions.

Even though Starfield's PS5 launch week sent it rocketing back to the top of the charts after an almost three-year absence, it was neither the best nor even the second-best sales week for the game (via Kotaku).
