Media giant Toei Company, the force behind big IPs like Power Rangers and Kamen Rider (which you might know as Masked Rider depending on where you live), has announced a brand new gaming label by the name of Toei Games.
The announcement (for which we're using machine translation, as well as additional reporting by Gematsu) makes Toei today's second Japanese media company to announce that it's branching out into games.
Unlike Sanrio, however, Toei says it intends to create titles that aren't based on its most iconic IPs, but instead "completely new game titles created by talented creators from Japan and abroad". Said games will be based on completely new properties as well.
We don't yet know what the first game from Toei Games will be, but we do know that it'll focus on the PC market and that more information about it will become available on April 24th. Mark that date in your calendar if you want to keep up with this one.
Toei CEO Fumio Yoshimura says the company wants gaming to become one of its core pillars alongside its existing exports, which include animation, movies, and live-action TV shows, among other things.
