Ecco the Dolphin is coming back. A sentence I never thought I'd get to write. To be sure, we've reported on stirrings therein. But now it's all coming true—and in a way I can't say as many of us would have imagined.
Ecco the Dolphin: Complete is an upcoming dual remaster including multiple versions of the original Ecco the Dolphin and Ecco the Dolphin: Tides of Time. It's a bit odd, admittedly, to label this collection 'Complete' when it's actually missing half the series, but I'm sure I speak for most (perhaps not all!) in saying that the OG and Tides of Time are where the bulk of the fun was at, anyway.

We don't know anything about this new game, yet, but it's a heck of an exciting reveal. As studio A&R Atelier notes, Ecco the Dolphin: Complete includes "a brand-new contemporary game built for the modern era." It's hard to imagine this being a huge AAA undertaking when it's packed in as such, but then, who among us truly felt the need for the devs to bankroll some $200 million endeavor?
