BioWare project leader Michael Gamble has given us a brief update on the progress of Mass Effect 5.
We've seen very little of the game since its reveal in 2020. Last year's N7 (November 7) Day gave us some concept art of Krogan fighting a civil war, presumably on Tuchanka. We've also seen a couple of job listings over the past few months, which is evidence that BioWare is actively beefing up the development team as development continues.
When questioned about why we haven't seen anything since November, Gamble replied, "Just busy workin', not a lot of time for tease." Well... there you have it, the studio (much depleted from layoffs and restructuring following The Veilguard's release) is still working on the next generation of Mass Effect, but we shouldn't expect a trailer any time soon.
Mass Effect 5 is one of those projects that is suffering from a premature reveal, something we also saw with The Elder Scrolls 6. When a studio announces a game at the beginning of pre-production, a level of expectation begins to brew among fans of the series: "This game has been in development for years, yet we've seen nothing," is a common question...
