GOG Preservation Program Expands With Several SaGa Games

GOG and Square Enix have teamed up to bring a quartet of great games to PC. All four are integral parts of Square's long-running SaGa series, an often-underrated and more experimental branch of the JRPG giant's ongoing output.

SaGa Frontier Remastered adds a fresh coat of paint and some cool new content to a 1998 classic. Romancing SaGa 2 and Romancing SaGa 3 are excellent strategy-centric titles with great twists on turn-based combat, though it's worth noting that this is the original RS2, rather than its stellar 2024 remake. Finally, there's SaGa: Scarlet Grace, the most recent original entry on this list, which debuted in 2016 for PlayStation Vita before moving on to a bevvy of other devices.

All four games are on sale now through May 4th at some nicely steep discounts. SaGa Frontier Remastered is half-off, while the other three are a whopping 70 percent off. Mind you, these are all nicely inexpensive games at this point—even when it hits full price, SaGa Frontier will only be $24.99 USD. But the deep discounts are worth noting, as Scarlet Grace, for instance, is presently $8.99 (versus $29.99 when the sale ends).
