Final Fantasy 14's New Raid Trailer Can't Be Posted Online Unless You Remove The Audio

Final Fantasy 14 players got one heckin' boatload of new information today, courtesy of the North American Fan Festival 2026's expansion-revealing keynote.

One of the other big moments came when Naoki Yoshida unveiled the game's next big series of alliance raids: Neon Genesis Evangelion. This is all 8.0-onward fare, which means Evercold content... which means January 2027 or later. But a collaboration of this scale with an IP that isn't even remotely owned by Square Enix is still unprecedented. And, as fate would have it, this also puts streamers in a bit of a weird place.

See that trailer? Well, I'm sure it's exempt from Square's own copyright infringement notice, but if you put it up, you'll need to take care not to encroach upon Studio Khara's turf. The music in this, well, virtual nothingburger of an announcement trailer, is not owned by Final Fantasy maker SE, you see, and that means we've got to go all mute-like if pulling from it.

Folks have until the end of July 2026 to silence or replace the soundtrack. Square also can't be held accountable should YouTube pull vids down with the music before that end point—which tracks, given...
