Resident Evil Requiem sales have passed yet another major milestone, reinforcing the game's status as the fastest-selling in its franchise and probably making everyone who worked on it very proud indeed.
As acknowledged by director Koshi Nakanishi on Instagram (thanks, Twisted Voxel), Resident Evil Requiem has now passed the seven million sales mark. That means it's landed another million sales since last month, and given its status as an exclusively single-player experience, that's reason to be excited.
Of course, Resident Evil Requiem was a success right out of the gate. Less than a week after its initial launch, the game passed five million sales, and it broke Steam records for the franchise on release as well, hitting over 300,000 players in just a few hours.
Resident Evil Requiem is the ninth mainline entry in the long-running Resident Evil series (note the sneaky Q doubling up as a 9 in the title). It revolves around two protagonists: Grace Ashcroft, the daughter of Outbreak character Alyssa Ashcroft, and returning hero Leon S. Kennedy.
Grace's sections take on a much more sedate, traditional survival horror pace, while Leon's are more action-oriented; after all, following the insanity of Resident Evil 4...
