There are so many things that Crimson Desert doesn't tell you, like how to double-jump properly, or that you can cook meat using sunlight. While it's fun discovering hidden features or content from the community, there are some things the devs should have been clearer about: like using the shovel.
In my 116 hours of playing the game, I think I used the shovel only once, and that was for a quest. Considering how massive Pywel is, spotting areas where the shovel can be used is like finding a needle in a haystack. If you're thinking the devs should have clearly marked these areas a little better, it turns out that they actually have.
As pointed out by Reddit user Deathengine, Crimson Desert has actually marked areas where you can dig stuff up, but didn't make it clear what the marker was. If you come across a pile of stones and a stick implanted in them, I wouldn't blame you for thinking it's a grave that should be left undisturbed. However, it's actually a sign that there is something to dig up close by.
I remember coming across a few of these "graves" and thinking the Black Bears will...
