After celebrating Final Fantasy 9's 25th anniversary last year, Square Enix has shifted its focus to Final Fantasy 10's birthday. The first part of Final Fantasy 10 released on July 19, 2001, and ahead of that milestone, a website has launched packed with lots of new FF10 merch, including plushes, art books, and the game's OST on vinyl.
It's more or less the same thing Square did for Final Fantasy 9 this time last year, minus the expectation that the game is going to get a remake, although there is a little of that here and there from hopeful Final Fantasy 10 fans. There's a lot less expectation this time around, not only because FF9 never wound up getting a remake, but unlike its predecessor, an FF10 remake was never part of some mega leak.
Final Fantasy 9's remake may forever be the one game from the NVIDIA leak that never sees the light of day.
