While Amazon is busy on the hunt for the next James Bond, 007 First Light will be bringing the MI6 agent back to video games after years. The game will focus on Bond's earlier years and will reveal how he reached the famed 00 status. He will be played by Patrick Gibson, who looks to be the youngest version of the agent we've seen in any form.
Speaking to Radio Times Gaming (Thanks, GamesRadar) at the 2026 BAFTA awards, Lennie James, who plays John Greenway in First Light, said that Amazon should consider Gibson for the big role after seeing his performance for the game. While that will depend on the movie itself, James thinks the people in charge of casting would be "mad" not to consider him.
"He's fantastic in our version of Bond, and I genuinely think he should be a candidate for the main role that they're trying to find someone for," said James. "I'm sure he's under consideration. The people in control would be mad not to consider him." Considering how No Time to Die ended, a younger James Bond might be what the series needs.
