GreedFall and Steelrising Dev Spiders Reportedly Shutting Down | TechRaptor

Spiders, the studio responsible for RPGs like GreedFall and The Technomancer, is apparently shutting down following parent company Nacon's reported failure to find a buyer.

According to French gaming news platform Origami (via ResetEra user GodGraviel; we're using machine translation for the original article), Nacon hasn't managed to find any interested parties to purchase Spiders, and so the publisher's administrator will request liquidation tomorrow.

As a reminder, Spiders was one of the studios that filed for insolvency alongside Nacon back in March, with the publisher's decision coming just days after the announcement of the latest Nacon Connect presentation (although that presentation was subsequently delayed to May).

The writing may have been on the wall for Spiders for some time, unfortunately. Despite a strike that secured better pay and work policies for the studio's staff in late 2024, Spiders became one of the many developers hit by layoffs last year, with "most of the animation and rig team" losing their jobs.

Sadly, it seems that RPG sequel GreedFall: The Dying World failed to find the audience Spiders desperately needed in order to make its future less uncertain. At its peak, the game managed to attract just under 1,000 Steam players, and...
