Kinetic Games has revealed the release date for the upcoming Phasmophobia Player Character update, a long-awaited patch that will allow you to customize your character with greater depth and expression.
First teased as part of the game's 2026 roadmap back in January, the Player Character update is arriving on May 5th on all platforms. It'll bring an overhaul for character design, as well as tons of new cosmetics, which you'll be able to obtain "microtransaction-free", according to Kinetic.
Additionally, you can look forward to "new hairstyles, accessories, innerwear, outerwear, and more", so if you've ever wanted to express yourself more thoroughly while sprinting for the door because another ghost has ruined your amygdala, now's your chance.
As well as new cosmetics, you'll also be treated to brand new animations and movements for character models, so hopefully, you and your fellow ghost-hunters should look and feel just that little bit more realistic after the update drops.
Every cosmetic item in Phasmophobia will apparently be unlockable either through in-game challenges or by earning in-game currency and buying what you want through the store with that currency. You won't have to spend a single real dollar.
