All live service games run into issues now and then, even the hugely popular Arc Raiders. It has run into a big one today, as its players have reported the game's latest update has switched off crossplay and won't let them turn it back on.
Like many online multiplayer games that are available on multiple platforms, Arc Raiders has an option that lets you toggle crossplay on and off. That way, the player can decide if they want to play with everyone, or just those who play Arc Raiders on the same platform that they do.
Except, with the rollout of today's 1.26.0 Riven Tides update, that decision has been made for them. Players have reported the toggle being turned off with no option to turn crossplay back on. Embark Studios is aware of the issue, having acknowledged the problem on Discord, assuring players that a fix for the issue is being worked on.
There's no word on how long the fix will take, which is why Embark's update also includes a workaround for anyone who relies on crossplay and doesn't want to wait for the studio to figure out what has happened so the problem can be fixed. If...
