Grand Theft Auto 6 fever is reaching an all-time high. With only a few months until it's due to launch, and with a lack of marketing compared to its predecessor, fans have continued to trawl through trailers, examine screenshots, and harken back to Rockstar's old posting habits to try to decipher any information about the game they can.

One slightly boisterous Redditor thought that they'd no longer need to rely on wild theories and speculation to get their GTA 6 fix, though, believing they'd got their hands on a copy of the game early. It turned out, however, that what they downloaded wasn't an advanced copy of GTA 6, but instead a virus that has made much of their PC unusable.

"'Your leaks are fake, you don't have an insider.' Oh yeah? Guess who just got early access to the game", started a thread on Reddit, with a screenshot of an alleged GTA 6 download. "And no, I am not giving it to any of you deniers/haters. So don't even bother asking," it signed off.

The poster allegedly believed they had obtained an early copy of GTA 6 and decided to flex to the r/GTA6unmoderated community's 136,000 weekly visitors....
