You might recall Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater's collector's edition last year left a lot to be desired. Specifically its terrarium with the odd-looking Snake statue inside. Konami wanted $200 for it, and it seems not many people were willing to pay that, as not only is the CE still in stock eight months later, but it's heavily discounted, presumably in an attempt to get rid of them.
With an MSRP of $199.99, even the most hardcore Metal Gear fans likely scoffed at the idea of picking one of these up when the remake released last summer. Especially if they waited to watch some unboxings. While the product might have looked good on-screen, the real thing fell way short of the mark.
The snake figure inside was so bad that the CE benefited from being laughed at rather than making fans genuinely angry, although I'm sure there are some who dropped $200 on this thing last year who fall into that latter category. The figure looks nothing like Snake, and when you get in under him and take a good look at his face, you can see he's cross-eyed, for some reason.
