Double Fine says that a remake of the first Psychonauts that brings its graphics up to the sequel's level would be "amazing" and that it would love to do it "one day".
For as long as Double Fine has been around, it hasn't done things like most other gaming studios, mostly focusing on creating singular experiences instead of building franchises. That all changed a few years ago when it finally released its first sequel, the wonderful Psychonauts 2, which proved to be even better than the all-timer first.
While Double Fine is currently back to its usual routine of making inventive games and not worrying about putting a two on Brutal Legend's name, it looks like the studio might actually be interested in revisiting and remaking some of its older games. That could start with the original Psychonauts, which the team discussed remaking in a recent Twitter post.
