Wuchang: Fallen Feathers IP Has Been Purchased Following Studio Dissolution

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers was quite possibly the biggest flash in the pan I've ever seen on Steam. It wasn't received particularly well by critics (I gave it a 3/5 in my review), but it somehow managed to launch to a peak of over 100,000 players. Unfortunately, problems with the game's performance on PC and an unpopular path that made certain key figures unkillable destroyed all of its momentum.

It lost almost half of its players in just one week, which is pretty dismal for a single-player game, and the bleeding never really stopped. It was a bit of a disaster overall, and one which ultimately led to the dissolution of the game's developer, Leenzee Games, as staff refused to transition to an outsourcing studio. That left the fate of Wuchang: Fallen Feathers up in the air.

Thankfully, for all you Wuchang fans out there, the property has been saved. That's because 505 Games parent company Digital Bros. seemingly saw Wuchang: Fallen Feathers as a valuable enough property to buy it outright. First reported by PC Gamer, Digital Bros. has paid a total of $4.7 million for the "full ownership of the IP."
