As the launch date for Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced comes closer, Ubisoft has been releasing more information about the remake. Yesterday, we learned a lot about the game's customizable HUD and UI, and how players will be able to change it to their liking. Later on, the devs answered some questions about the game in a Reddit AMA.
One of the biggest changes in Black Flag Resynced, apart from the visuals, is the combat. Ubisoft has opted to evolve the original's dodge and counter system to include parries and a stagger meter in order to make it more engaging. However, in doing so, the developer has removed the ability to fight with Edward Kenway's hidden blades.
One of the questions posed to the devs was if Black Flag Resynced will allow players to use the hidden blades as separate weapons. Unfortunately, it seems we won't be able to. "Dual swords are the main weapons Edward will use in battle. The Hidden Blade is not a selectable weapon, but a fatal, contextual (and BLOODY!) takedown that is available when you break the defense of your opponent," answered Ubisoft.
