007 First Light Lead Says Design On The Limited Edition PS5 Controller Is Not Just Meant To Be Gun Barrel Rifling

007 First Light launches this year, bringing James Bond back to video games after a long time. IO Interactive's game will revolve around younger Bond, and will reveal how he became a 00. However, it will still stick to tradition by including a title sequence, sung by Lana Del Ray. Speaking of tradition, Sony also announced a limited edition DualSense controller for the game, which some fans have complained about.

While the gold color scheme and linework looks great, some fans have taken issue with the lines not looking like the iconic barrel rifling sequence seen at the start of the movies. While it looks like the designers went for the look, the straight lines are a diversion from the traditional James Bond style. However, the game's art director, Rasmus Poulsen, has now revealed that it wasn't meant to resemble the rifling at all.

"The thing about the straight lines is everybody can do just a gun barrel, right?" said Poulsen in an interview with Eurogamer. "But in that sense, I think it's actually very telling that it's not a straight-up gun barrel, because that is an icon of the franchise.
