AI continues to be a scourge on the video game industry. There's a big push-and-pull between higher-ups, like Dead Space creator Glen Schofield, who sing its praises, and those on the ground, like game artists and actors, who continually push back against the technology. It's been a hot topic for the last 12 months or so, with developers like Larian, Warhorse Studios, and even Rockstar admitting to using it.
I'm personally very much in the anti-AI camp myself, knowing the impact it has on the planet and people's livelihoods, and there aren't many worse uses for it than straight-up theft, which is exactly what the new gacha game Neverness to Everness is being accused of.
As evidenced by a social media post, NTE has been accused of ripping a scene straight from an anime, running it through an AI filter, and using it as artwork in the game.
