Windrose, just like any open world survival game, has a lot of obstacles you need to overcome. It feels like everything is out to get you, and while it can sometimes feel like the ultimate pirate fantasy, when you're skulking through the jungle trying not to get eaten by wild wolves, it can also feel like a horror game at times.
No location in the game sums this feeling up better than the Foothills. It feels like a proper difficulty spike, and even when you're more upgraded and fighting fit, it's still a pain to navigate and can be dangerous to walk around unprepared. Thankfully, Windrose also has crafting and building mechanics too, and we all know how creative people can be when they're given building mechanics and a problem.

Earlier this week, this clever and fiendish player devised a strategy to get over the Foothills without having to deal with any of the nasty enemies inside it. That solution was to build a gigantic wooden bridge 30 feet over the area that they dubbed the "SkyWay", because "walking on the ground is for suckers who want rabies."...
