Yet Another Live-Service Shooter Has Failed Post-Launch

It's a day ending in the letter "Y," which means there's undoubtedly another live-service game released into the ether, and in the case of Last Flag, a recently-released 5v5 capture the flag shooter, another title ending its support after a limited time on the market.

As first spotted by Insider Gaming, Last Flag, the debut title from Night Street Games, a studio founded by Imagine Dragons front man Dan Reynolds, failed to gain significant traction, and is ending new content development, including console ports.

"Five years ago, we set out to build a game that captured the fun of playing real-life capture the flag," a statement released on Discord read. "As an indie studio, we knew that we couldn’t possibly match the pace and scale of the AAA competition, so we didn’t build a ‘live service’ free-to-play game."

"Our hope was that we could find a sustainable audience by offering a complete game experience at an affordable price — one with no battle passes or microtransactions — and to win over players by making it with heart and doing it our way."
