If you've played Returnal, then you'll know that Saros is all about dying and trying again, as explained by our very own review of the game. While not a typical roguelike, it does borrow several elements from the genre, primarily the constant randomized runs that you have to do in order to actually progress in the game. It was a thing in Returnal, and it's a thing in Saros.

That being said, nobody really enjoys dying in a video game, and there are many true gamers out there that will set themselves the challenge of beating Saros without actually dying. It turns out, it's quite doable, but if you were hoping to completely finish Saros from top to bottom while avoiding death, you should probably know that this is quite literally impossible.

Of course, you'll get more dialogue and events from the game if you actually die, but it has now been confirmed that the game's completion rate is directly tied to your death. First confirmed by a Reddit user called Calcobrena, Saros will not actually confirm that you've visited "The Passage" biome unless you die, meaning you can't actually completely fill the Databank unless you get your butt whooped....
