Control and Alan Wake studio Remedy has released its financial results for the first quarter of 2026, and revenue has fallen a little, but Control has managed to hit a new sales milestone.
As revealed in Remedy's latest financial summary, revenue is down by just under 2% when compared to the same period last year, although operating profit has increased, which will come as a relief to newly-appointed CEO Jean-Charles Gaudechon.
Despite overall revenue falling, Remedy says that revenue specifically from game sales has increased, driven largely by royalties from sales of Alan Wake 2, which continues to generate profit after breaking even surprisingly late into its life. Naturally, Control also contributed to this sale revenue surge.
When it comes to Remedy's future projects, Gaudechon says the "gameplay and overall feel" for upcoming sequel Control Resonant are "coming together", and he's "confident" that the game is a "strong product". It's apparently still on track for a 2026 launch, although we don't know exactly when in 2026 Control Resonant will arrive yet.
Like Control Resonant, the upcoming Max Payne 1&2 remakes are in the full production stage, although Remedy hasn't announced a release window for those yet. I'd expect...
